Winter 2007-08 Advertising Campaign
Explore Minnesota Tourism will expand the new “My Favorite Minnesota” advertising theme to include winter creative for promoting Minnesota travel and tourism opportunities to consumers. Advertising tactics include:
- Winter Explorer Newspaper distributed in Star Tribune Wednesday November 7.
- Newspaper - small space ads:
- Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Nov 11 & 28
- USA Weekend Nov. 4
- Magazine advertising:
- Midwest Living, half page ads Nov/Dec and Jan/Feb.
- NWA World Traveler, half page ad Nov
- Small space ads in Nov/Dec in National Geographic Traveler, and Sierra and Outside Magazine in Nov.
- Radio advertising through the Minnesota Broadcasters Association in greater Minnesota promoting the Twin Cities Metro area, November 12-December 2.
- TV advertising scheduled the month of January in the Twin Cities, Eau Claire/La Crosse, Fargo/Grand Forks, Sioux Falls, Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, and in Greater Minnesota through the Minnesota Broadcasters Association Jan 14- Feb 3.
- Online activity:
- Google ad word search campaign November 27 - February 25
- Content boxes with links to www.exploreminnesota.com on www.startribune.com, www.twincities.com, www.mpr.org, www.inforum.com and www.grandforksherald.com
- Ongoing agreements with www.startribune.com and www.kare11.com for online content.
- Video banner advertising with media websites in Mpls St Paul, Des Moines and Cedar Rapids through the Fifth Network
- Online “co-registration” advertising with MMSI to obtain leads for distribution of Winter Explorers and highway maps.
