Explore Minnesota Fishing Report
Explore Minnesota Tourism’s fishing report is great way to generate inquiries, and it’s free! Explore Minnesota Tourism uses fishing reports from chambers of commerce, CVB’s, resort associations and other community organizations to compile the EMT Fishing Report. The source’s toll-free line and Web site are also included. The weekly EMT Fishing Report is sent via e-mail and RSS feed, and posted on our web site. Thousands of consumers and media read this report on a regular basis, many then calling and linking directly to the source for further information!
To participate, reports should be kept to less than 200 words, must be received by Wednesday evening, and, in order to be included for that week, should be sent to fishing@emt.travel. Reports should include:
1) Name of city/area and lakes covered
2) Current fishing activity on Minnesota waters, i.e., species of fish being caught on specific bodies of water, successful types of bait, recommended fishing techniques and methods, and time of day
3) Other regulatory items of importance
4) Name of person & organization reporting, phone, and Web address (if applicable)
**Information regarding natural occurrences such as lake-turnover, or events such as upcoming fishing tournaments, is also encouraged.
Again, reports should be sent to fishing@emt.travel by Wednesday evening each week.
EMT will make every effort to assure that the fishing report is equitably representative of the state. We reserve the right to both limit and solicit reports from organizations to fulfill this goal, and best meet the needs of the consumer. At times, it may be necessary to either partially edit or remove a report entirely if space and/or time demand.
If you have further questions, please contact Christine Lawton at Christine.Lawton@state.mn.us
Explore Minnesota Fall Color Report
Explore Minnesota Fall Color Reports are compiled from information provided by Department of Natural Resources state park managers and staff, as well as staff at Voyageurs National Park, the Three Rivers Park District, and statewide Convention and Visitors Bureaus and chambers of commerce.
To be included, reports must not be longer than 150 words. Please format your report in the following way:
1) Percent of fall color change
2) Anticipated peak fall color date
3) Dominant color (other than green)
4) Types of trees, grasses & wildflowers displaying fall color/in full bloom
5) Wildlife sightings/activity
6) Name of person & organization reporting, phone, and Web address (if applicable)
**Information regarding migrations or events taking place in vicinity covered will also be considered.
Please restrict your reports to the above criteria, and send your information within the body of an email by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday of each week to christine.lawton@state.mn.us. All reports must be accurate and up-to-date. Any consumer complaints regarding the accuracy of the reports will be referred to the appropriate source.
