I started fly fishing in my early teens. My Dad handed me a fly rod tied on a Royal Coachman and pointed me upstream toward a great hole. I waited patiently until a nice big Rainbow came along and swallowed, and then spit out, my dry fly offering. Dejected I returned to my dad who informed me, that I was supposed to set the hook when the trout took the fly. Well, I learned quick and have loved fly fishing ever since! That was out of Pinedale, Wyoming around 1965.
