We offer a variety of grants to help communities promote their areas of the state.
Organizational Partnership Grants
What Explore Minnesota Tourism offers: Organizational partnership grants up to $12,000 are available to use in marketing programs that will attract nonresident travelers to the state. Partnership grant funding can be used for advertising, trade and sports shows, familiarization tours, direct mail, international sales missions and research.
Who could benefit from this service: nonprofit tourism-promotion organizations, including statewide organizations
Qualifications: organizations must represent a single facet of the travel industry, or be a local organization representing all facets of the travel industry and designated as the primary tourism promotion organization for a city or community
Due By: Partnership grant guidelines are available in July, with applications due in October. Another round of partnership grants may be available to promote winter 08-09 activities; these grant requests would be due in May, 2008
Cost: Organizations are required to provide at least 60% of the total project cost

Notes: This program also allows up to 25% of the grant awarded to be used for in-state advertising.
Innovative Marketing Grant Program
What Explore Minnesota Tourism offers: This new program is offered to encourage innovation and creativity in partnership projects
Who could benefit from this service: nonprofit tourism-promotion organizations, including statewide organizations
Qualifications: projects must be new and must meet criteria established for innovation and creativity. Projects are evaluated by a team of marketing professionals whose final scores determine whether the grant request is funded. A sample of the evaluation form is included with the guidelines at www.industry.exploreminnesota.com.
Due By: this program requires a pre-application to be completed and returned to your Regional Representative by early September. Applicants will then receive feedback before the final application is due in October, 2008.
Cost: This program has a minimum funding request of $10,000 and a maximum of $30,000 with a 50/50 community match requirement.

Scenic Byway Grant Program
What Explore Minnesota Tourism offers: When Explore Minnesota Tourism budget allows, grants up to $2,500 are available to Scenic Byway organizations for promotion and to increase community awareness of their scenic byway
Who could benefit from this service: nonprofit tourism-promotion organizations, including statewide organizations
