Cultural Heritage Tourism Workshops in Your Region
Cultural Heritage Tourism Workshops will be held in each region beginning with the first session in Thief River Falls, Thursday, August 13, 2009, following the Minnesota Heartland Tourism Association meeting. The theme of the workshops is "Get a Little Help from Your Friends" as this is an opportunity to learn together with others in your region, and to develop new ways of developing tourism with the great arts and cultural activities in each community. 2011 Governor’s Fishing Opener Event Proposals Sought
Explore Minnesota Tourism is seeking proposals to host the 2011 Governor’s Fishing Opener event. This event is held annually and is sponsored by Explore Minnesota Tourism and a host community/tourism organization. 2011 marks the 63rd anniversary of this traditional Minnesota event. Restaurant Vacancy on Explore Minnesota Tourism Council
A vacancy exists on the Explore Minnesota Tourism Council for a restaurants representative to complete a four-year term expiring January 3, 2011.
The Council exists to serve the broader interests of tourism in Minnesota by promoting activities that support, maintain, and expand the state’s domestic and international travel market, thereby generating increased visitor expenditures, tax revenue and employment. Membership includes: up to 28 members appointed by the Governor, meetings are held at least four times a year, and the location varies.

Minnesota Heartland to Hold Summer Meeting in Conjunction with Cultural Workshops
Minnesota Heartland will hold their summer meeting on Thursday, August 13, 2009, at the Best Western Hotel in Thief River Falls. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a review of the Northwest and Central Region’s marketing program. We are looking for input and feedback on our regional marketing. In addition, Explore Minnesota will provide an update on the 2010 partnership grant program. There is no registration fee for this meeting. Come join us!
All attendees are encouraged to attend the Cultural Heritage Workshop which begins at 10:00 a.m. Minnesota Heartland supports these opportunities that bring valuable education and networking programs to our regions.
