Tourism is a key ingredient in the state’s economy. Explore Minnesota Tourism promotes Minnesota travel to keep this economic sector growing and thriving.
In addition to state funding, Explore Minnesota Tourism leverages its resources by generating additional income through cash and in-kind partnerships with the tourism industry. Currently, through Minnesota statute, Explore Minnesota Tourism must raise $4 million to qualify for additional incentive funding. Explore Minnesota Tourism may receive one dollar for each dollar over $4 million the agency raises. This incentive is capped at $1 in additional allocations from the state’s general fund.
