Questions and Answers
Q: We are considering special sections with dedicated editorial in our magazine and printed overruns of the special section for distribution. These sections may be underwritten by a sponsor and/or contained supplemental support advertising as well. Is EMT and the State of MN interested in having this biking piece distributed in another publication as well as printed in a stand-alone format?
A: If you are willing to provide additional distribution, please outline this in your proposal. This will be considered as “value added bonus” in proposals.
Q: Are you looking for a specific size and number of pages? How many pages have typically made up this guide before?
A: The guide will be approximately 8-8.5” x 10.5-11”, with 80 # – No.3 for the cover and 40# – No. 5 coated stock for the inside pages. The guide will include four-color photos throughout. There will be approximately 14 pages of editorial content, including photography and cover. The last biking guide, including advertising was 32 pages, cover to cover.
Q: I’m preparing a proposal for your RFP, and wanted to know if you have an ideal page count in mind? In the proposal, you mention 14 pages of editorial content/photography. Do those pages include the bike trails and state map?
A: The request in the RFP for 14 pages of editorial content/photography includes a provision for only one statewide map of bike trails. If your proposal is to include other maps, you would need to accommodate for those maps with additional pages.
